Natural Dyes are “Living Colors” and can change over time in unexpected ways, I always embrace this as it is nature living within an art piece, but please be aware of the possible evolution of your colors.
RUNE: a mark of mysterious or magical significance RITUAL: a ceremonial act EACH PIECE IS A VISUAL STORY THE COLORS, THE TEXTILES, THE PRINTS, ALL REFLECT A UNION HUMAN HANDS AND NATURE COLLABORATING TOGETHER TO MAKE ART DEEPLE INFUSED WITH SPIRIT, ESSENCE, AND A REVERENCE FOR THE PROCESS I am Ari Shore of Rune and Ritual. Rune and Ritual was born out of years of putting my artistic visions on the back burner, yet, when I recently became a mom, I let my soul crack wide open emotionally and creatively. I found myself overcome with this fervent desire to “make”. I longed to create something that existed beyond my minds eye and spirit realms. I wanted my art to live here in the tangible world, and just like that, in the midst of the most chaotic moments I breathed life into both a baby and my creative voice. I am a believer in the magic and mystical qualities of creating by hand using materials that have a natural spirit and essence. There is a meditative aspect to the slow and methodical acts of creating art that has a reverence for the process. I grew up in rural New England, amongst a family of potters, woodworkers, and painters. I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Creative Arts Therapy from Endicott College in Beverly, MA, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. I currently reside in Maui, HI, with my husband and young daughter. https://runeandritual.bigcartel.com/artist-story |
